Napoli’s chances of signing Colombian skipper James Rodriguez this summer may have increased after Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo’s latest comment.
According to Diego De Luca, it appears the Madrid-based club are not keen on adding the former Monaco and Porto star.
Los Rojiblancos seemed to be in pole position to land the star player, but things then stalled and their pursuit could well have ended.

And in a recent interview, the statement from the club’s President may have signalled the end of their pursuit – paving the way for other suitors to land the Colombian.
“James Rodriguez? Our team is already strong and we think we’re already competitive for all competitions we will play in,” De Luca, on Cerezo’s behalf, told Naples’ Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The team is complete. [But] in football you never know what will happen tomorrow.”Today I can say that we’re very strong.”
Ancelotti is keen on reuniting with Rodriguez at Napoli, a familiar face during his tenure in Bayern and Madrid.
