The Celtic manager says that he isn’t too worried about the interest in Kieran Tierney as the club looks to continue dealing with Arsenal.
While the club has rejected another Arsenal offer for Kieran Tierney, Neil Lennon knows that he might end up losing his star player at any time. The young full back’s consistent displays at left-back have alerted many top clubs. And Arsenal, who are keen on adding a fresh face for the role, have already made two official approaches for the Scotland international.
So far, both bids have been rejected by the Bhoys. The reigning Scottish Premier League champions don’t want to lose their star defender for a small amount. Moreover, Neil Lennon is keen on welcoming fresh faces this summer.
To meet their manager’s demand, the club needs to raise funds.
However, Neil Lennon says that Celtic don’t really have a decision to make since Arsenal haven’t been able to meet the player’s valuation. And when asked if he expected the Gunners to come with another bid, Lennon said that he has no idea how the club’s financial situation is.
“The club’s valuation of Kieran has not been met and until then we don’t have a decision to make,” he said according to the Standard.
“I don’t know what Arsenal’s financial state is.
“I know what ours is and we are quite comfortable with the situation at the moment.
“There has been a second bid, the bid has been rejected and it’s as you were.”
Quite clearly, Celtic will not be worried if Arsenal continue making unsuccessful bids for Kieran Tierney. The Scottish champions are not necessarily in a rush to sell one of their prized assets. Moreover, with the dream playing Champions League group stages still very much alive, the Bhoys would be hoping for Kieran Tierney to stick around.
