Gary Neville insists his beloved Manchester United still needs three or four top-class players to get back to where they are expected to be.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United side is starting to take shape. His team is now 15 games unbeaten. But Neville insists that we should not get carried away.
Neville is happy that the team is improving and playing a better quality and more appealing style of football. However, the club legend also knows that there is still a lot of work to be done and ultimately a lot of money to be spent.
Speaking to Sky Sports the retired England right-back said:
“This team is a lot more likable than the one which was here two years ago when you thought United’s recruitment had lost direction.”
“But l would urge some caution. Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League. They have a squad that is improving with young players.”
“But there is still some work to be done in the transfer market to get this team to a title-winning team, which has to be Manchester United’s ambition.”
“There is more needed and a lot more needed.”
“Three or four players of high quality of the Bruno Fernandes type to get them to the point where they can challenge.”
Just who will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recruit this summer?
