Arsenal dropped more points as they were held to a draw by Norwich City.
Scoreline: Norwich City 2-2 Arsenal
Goalscorers: Pukki, Cantwell | Aubameyang (x2)
Newly appointed manager Freddie Ljungberg made four tweaks to side that started for Unai Emery. While Norwich City made one change with Alexander Tettey making way for Ibrahim Amadou.
Arsenal started the match in an exciting manner under the new boss. The Gunners made quite a few chances but also wasted them each time.
Despite the visitors’ efforts, it was Norwich City who scored the first goal. Kenny McClean, after winning the tackle, laid the ball for Teemu Pukki. The striker sprinted forward before firing it goalwards. A deflection off of Mustafi saw the Finn score his seventh goal of the season.
Arsenal, too, didn’t hold back for long. Eight minutes after Pukki’s goal, Arsenal equalized through Aubameyang. The Gunners got a penalty after Zimmerman’s handball. Initially, Tim Krul was successful in keeping out the Arsenal striker’s attempt. But the referee gave Aubameyang another chance as the first one was ruled out. This time, the Gaboneese made no mistake and sent Krul the wrong way.
A few seconds before the half time, Todd Cantwell once again took Norwich on the front foot. Onel Hernandez raced down the left before setting up Cantwell. The midfielder quickly restored his side’s lead after leaving Leno helpless.
At the 57th minute, Arsenal leveled again through Aubameyang. Mustafi’s deflected shot reached the number-14 who drilled it into the net.
The match finished with either side scoring twice.
