Bertrand Traore is on the books of Olympique Lyon but has Premier League experience thanks to his short stint at the Stamford bridge.

Newcastle United finished 13th in Premier League. A comfortable league finish given their hapless scoring form.

The Magpies were the fourth-worst side in terms of goals scored. Only Crystal Palace, Watford, and Norwich City scored less, with the latter two suffering the ignominy of relegation.

To reinforce their ranks, Newcastle have identified former Chelsea player, Bertrand Traore. Sky Sports have reported that Traore is an addition Steve Bruce wants.

Lyon will not allow to leave him on the cheap after paying €10 million for his services.

The Burkina Faso forward will have a mark on his back from the get-go. After a bright start to life in Lyon, he has managed a measly 21 goals and 10 assists in 88 Ligue 1 appearances.

Bruce wants Traore to form a partnership with Joelinton. He will hope that the 24-year-old fares better than the last year’s marquee acquisition.

The €44 million purchase from TSG Hoffenheim made 38 Premier League appearances but could only manage two goals.
