Neymar accused of rape in Paris

An unnamed woman has filed a police report against Neymar accusing him sexually assaulting her in a Paris hotel.

The alleged victim filed her complaint at Neymar’s native Brazil in a Sao Paulo police station on May 31.

So far, there has been no response from either the player himself or his club Paris Saint-Germain in regards to the charges.

In the police report, the woman alleges to have met Neymar on the social media platform Instagram. Apparently, they exchanged messages before a friend of the forward’s sorted out a trip to France for her.

She was set-up with a place to stay in a five-star hotel called Sofitel Paris Arc Du Triomphe, which is located right in the heart of Paris.

The woman later met Neymar in person on May 15 at 20:00 (CET), where it was claimed he was “apparently drunk”. They embraced each other and talked.

However, the police report claims that Neymar soon “became aggressive” and had non-consensual sex with her.

The document then explained that night’s events were unreported in France due to the victim’s emotional state and fear of reporting her experience in a foreign country.

Report: Barcelona preparing one FINAL offer for Neymar

Barcelona will reportedly make one last push to convince Paris Saint-Germain into selling wantaway star forward Neymar.

After returning to Brazil on May 17, the woman filed her report in Sao Paulo on Friday.

Following these turn of events, Neymar’s father broke his silence to defend his son’s innocence. Furthermore, he claims to have evidence proving it.

“It’s a person accusing Neymar, but we have proof that nothing happened,” Neymar Snr told Brazilian television network Band.

“Neymar fell into this trap. Now we have to do what we can to show the truth.”

Currently, Neymar is in Brazil preparing for the 2019 Copa America tournament this summer.

Despite suffering a knee problem in training on Tuesday, the former Barcelona star returned to the pitch on Friday.

Eight-time champions Brazil will host the Copa America, with Bolivia awaiting them for their Group A opener on June 15. They will later face Venezuela and Peru.
