After PSG’s defeat against Manchester United, the road is wide open for Real Madrid to snatch both Neymar and Kylian Mbappé next summer.

PSG is currently going through a very delicate situation with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, their two biggest stars will begin a very complicated process in which several clubs will try to sign them but Real Madrid will have the upper hand in the negotiations according to Diario AS.

The Spanish news outlet suggests that president Florentino Perez already has a verbal agreement with both players and half a billion euros to bring them both to Los Blancos, the reason they might accept an offer from Real Madrid is Paris Saint-Germain’s inability to compete for the Champions League for one more season.

Despite owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s statements in which he confirms that neither of both players will leave PSG, the reality is that their unique situations are nothing like the one with Marco Verratti, just to use an example.

Both players have the option to leave the French club in their own terms regardless of what Khelaifi says about their future, their situations are similar in nature but very different on the details and we are going to break down what needs to happen in both cases so Real Madrid can claim their transfer next summer.

Neymar has a clause on his contract

When Brazilian forward Neymar arrived in PSG after leaving FC Barcelona during the summer of 2017, the star agreed to play for the French giants under the condition that a specific clause could be included on his contract.

The deal was that PSG would pay the €222 million from his release clause to FC Barcelona, but the French club would let any other club in Europe buy Neymar for the exact same amount.

Considering that this player’s intention was to win the Champions League in a place that could let him grow away from Lionel Messi’s shadow and things haven’t worked out for him, it is completely logical that he starts listening to other clubs where he can achieve his goals.

Paris Saint-Germain has been the worst decision that Neymar has made throughout his professional career and he will start looking at his options, the most obvious one is Real Madrid because Florentino Perez has been obsessed with signing this player for over a decade.

"I'm only focused on tomorrow's game against Cyprus.

Now that it’s clear PSG isn’t winning anything but Ligue 1, Neymar is free to negotiate with any club of his liking as his current one simply didn’t live up to his expectations.

Mbappe was promised a future away from PSG

Kylian Mbappe’s case leads to the same outcome but the details are quite different from Neymar’s, as the French youngster was swayed to sign for the French giants during the summer of 2017 when Real Madrid also tried to close a deal through Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez.

We just mentioned how the PSG’s board of directors convinced Kylian that his best option was to remain in France and prove his worth before moving to another country, but this player’s progression has been too accelerated and he will feel the urge to play for a club that is more suited to his impressive skills.

Mbappe himself has already mentioned that his intention is to play for Real Madrid in the future and this latest heartbreak is all he needed to speed up the process.

The rumors of Zinedine Zidane possibly taking Real Madrid’s charge during the summer is a major reason for both players to consider their options, playing for one of the best managers in recent history is a tantalizing offer that could help them win the one trophy that has been denied to them for the second consecutive season.
