Neymar: Beating PSG with Barcelona one of my best moments

Neymar has fueled further tension with Paris Saint-Germain after declaring Barcelona’s famous comeback win over them as one of his favourite memories.

Neymar is currently attempting to force a return to Barcelona this summer after two years at PSG. Although his employers aren’t making things easy and seem reluctant to part with their prized asset.

It’s only natural, though, given that PSG had forked out a world-record fee of €222m to sign Neymar from Barcelona in the first place. While the Brazilian has scored 51 times in 58 games, his time in France has been overshadowed by long-term metatarsal injuries.

But it appears Neymar’s relationship with PSG has fallen apart altogether now upon failing to show up for pre-season training last week.

So, PSG sporting director Leonardo opened the door for potential suitors to sign the Brazilian rebel for the right price.

And Neymar’s recent comments will have done little to help ease the mounting tensions between himself and the Parisians after labelling Barcelona’s stunning Champions League comeback victory over them as one of his sweetest moments.

It came during the 2016/17 campaign in the Champions League last-16 stage. Initially, Barcelona were in big trouble as they lost the opening leg 4-0 in France and seemed certain for an early exit.

Valverde: Lionel Messi will only play for Barcelona if 100% fit

Ernesto Valverde announced that he will only consider playing Lionel Messi in Sunday's La Liga match between Barcelona and Real Betis if he's 100% fit.

However, the Blaugrana went on to produce one of the greatest comebacks of all-time by thrashing PSG 6-1 at Camp Nou in the second leg. Ironically, Neymar’s brace and Sergi Roberto’s goal after the 88th-minute wrapped up a 6-5 aggregate win.

Just five months later, Neymar then completed his shock transfer to PSG in August 2017.

When asked what’s his best moment in football, Neymar told Oh My Goal: “My best memory as a footballer? There are two moments. Firstly, when we won the Olympics with Brazil.

“Secondly, the ‘remontada’ against Paris. What we felt when we scored the sixth goal… I never felt something like this. It was incredible.

“When we won against PSG with Barca, it was completely… we all went crazy afterwards. I believe it was the best possible feeling for all of us.”
