Neymar will not be taking part in the Rio festivities this year and has revealed he is happy not to.

For the first time in six years, Neymar would be missing out on the Rio Carbival and he appears glad doing so.

You know that funny coincidence where Neymar mysteriously gets injured close to his birthday and ends up throwing a lavish party?

The same trend has followed suit with the Rio Carnaval but the PSG forward is set to miss out for the first time in six years.

The Carnival is a period which marks the final days of the Christian calendar and is very famous in Brazil.

People dance out in groups on the street and the Carnaval is well famous in Rio de Janeiro.

Neymar has now revealed on his Instagram account that he is glad to miss out on this year’s edition.

“That is it. This time there will be no controversy. Thanks. Happy Carnaval!”

PSG’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund is the reason Neymar will miss out as he hopes to play a big part in his side’s second leg fixture where they trail Dortmund by a goal.
