Neymar’s comment after VAR’s review awarded their opponent – Manchester United – a penalty, which eliminated his team Paris Saint-German in the Champions League, may land him trouble if found guilty.

Having secured a 2-0 win against Manchester United, PSG was prepared to thrash Red Devils again at home for a crunch of Champions League Last 16 second legs match on 6th March. But they were quite unfortunate as VAR’s decision ended their progress.

The VAR’s decision didn’t sit well with the PSG star who took to Instagram to share a piece of his mind to the referee Damir Skomina and his team of officials:

“That is a disgrace! And UEFA still pick four guys who know nothing about football to review the VAR decision in slow motion… that handball simply doesn’t exist!”

“How do you handball behind your back? Ahh.. go f*ck yourselves.”

UEFA has initiated a formal investigation into Neymar’s comments above, according to 101greatgoals.

The 27-year-old Brazilian star will appear before the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body to plead his case as announced below:

“Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League Round of 16-second leg match between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United FC (1-3), played on 6 March in France.”

“Charges against Paris Saint-Germain: Player Neymar Junior – Insulting / molesting acts against match official (statements made by the player following the above-mentioned match) – Art. 15 (1) (d) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.”

‘The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body with the date of the hearing yet to be confirmed.’
