Neymar returns for PSG in his first game since October, but it was Mauro Icardi who stole the show again with another goal, as PSG beat Lille 2-0.
Neymar was pictured at the Davis Cup in Spain rather than preparing appropriately for tonight’s game.
Neymar has been out of action since October with a hamstring injury but was deemed fit enough to play tonight.
He made the starting 11 and put in a 65-minute appearance for PSG. He was far from his vintage best but showed moments of Brazilian flair and magic associated with his game.
Frenchman Kylian Mbappe who is also on the road to recovery from injury was his replacement.
It was, however, season-long loan signing Mauro Icardi who stole the show again with a goal from close range.
Icardi got on the end of a ball from another summer signing, Idrissa Gueye. 17 minutes on the clock PSG 1 – 0 Lille.
It was less than 15 minutes later that Argentine Angel Di Maria doubled the lead with the assist coming from Julian Draxler.
PSG dominated, with Icardi, Di Maria and Draxler all having shots block or saved.
Lille were by no means bystanders in this game, as the visitors actually had more shots (13) and shots on goal (8) than PSG.
