Former Real Madrid manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo believes the Neymar Jr is afforded “too much protection” and that is largely due to the influence of his coaches and the media

The former Real Madrid coach, who coincided with Neymar at Santos in 2009, says the PSG star is treated differently to other players and needs a talking to.

“He needs to have a talk with his coach. As in football as in life, it needs to be a frank and honest one. Neymar is over-protected. Not just by coaches, but also by television coverage and by the media, who treat him differently to other players.

“It is being forgotten that he is a football player,” Luxemburgo said in an interview with Radio Jornal.”

Edinson Cavani has no plans on leaving PSG

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon after ending his three-month goal drought.

Neymar has enjoyed a campaign of mixed fortunes marred with injuries and suspensions despite winning the Ligue 1 title this season.

The Brazilian skipper’s return from injury was overshadowed by an altercation with a fan after the game PSG lost in the Coupe de France final against Rennes.
