Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has stated the need for a fresh challenge was the reason he left Barcelona.
The Brazilian ace was part of the deadly trio alongside Messi and Suarez that wreaked havoc on opposition defenders in La Liga and Europe.
Neymar enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in Catalunya, registering over 100 goals, and a clean sweep of honours including the treble-winning side back in 2015.
He went on to complete a record-breaking €222 million (£198m/$250m) deal to PSG in 2017.
And the 27-year-old revealed it was a tough decision to make but he was keen on taking up a new challenge.
Explaining his reasons for leaving Barcelona, Neymar said via Goal: “I left because I wanted a new challenge, the challenge to win and find something new, to find new tests.
“Barcelona is a club that has always fascinated me, and I still love it today. But at that time I wanted to try something new and that’s why I decided to leave.
“It was very difficult to make that decision, there were even moments when I hesitated and asked not to leave.
“I was like that for about two weeks before deciding to go to Paris.”

At PSG, the Brazilian has equally made a clean sweep of domestic titles, unfortunately, the French giants have struggled to reproduce that feat in Europe.
Real Madrid are currently considering a swoop for Neymar including the duo of Hazard and Pogba as they consider revamping their squad for next season.
