Paris Saint-Germain have revealed that they are “very satisfied” with Neymar progress from his metatarsal injury and that he is set to return to the club as he continues with his recovery
The Brazilian has been absent for several weeks after sustaining a broken metatarsal injury in PSG’s 3-0 win over local rivals Marseille in a Ligue 1 encounter in February.
Amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future at the French capital, the club has announced that their star forward is set to return to PSG as part of his recovery to full fitness ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
“The result of these studies has confirmed that the injuries to his ankle and right foot are evolving very satisfactorily, meaning that the immobilisation and protection the player has had can now cease,” read a PSG statement.
“What will follow is a programme of rehabilitation, which will begin in the next few days in Brazil and then continue at the Ooredoo training centre.”
After completing a world record €222m transfer from Barcelona last summer, Neymar had enjoyed a successful first season at PSG with the 26-year-old having scored 19 league goals in just 20 Ligue 1 appearances.
