Neymar cannot wait for the return of the Champions League as he desires to help Paris Saint-Germain win the competition for the first time.
UEFA aims to finish the remainder of the 2019/20 Champions League season in the format of a ‘mini-tournament’ in August. The matches will be played in Lisbon, Portugal.
Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the Champions League Last 16 by beating Borussia Dortmund 3-2 on aggregate, two of which were scored by Neymar, back in March.
Neymar has enjoyed considerable success in his career so far but is yet to get his hands on Europe’s biggest club prize ever since becoming the world’s most expensive player.
But the Brazilian, who has not stepped on the pitch for six months now, is determined to change that when European football resumes.
“This period was atypical, but the main focus was to keep safe, with steady body and mind,” he said via his official website.
“I am ready and excited to return, thinking a lot about the Champions League, of course. We have a strong group, conquered a historical qualification, with the same intensity and dedication, but I miss the heat of the game.
“I can barely wait to enter the pitch and to, if it’s God’s will, make history.”
