Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Neymar has returned to Brazil in order to continue his recovery from injury

Over the past few weeks, Neymar has struggled with a groin problem and has only played once for PSG across the past month, which came against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

In an interview this week, Neymar had announced he was back to “100%” fitness and was raring to get back into action at PSG.

However, Tuchel evidently doesn’t feel the same way and he’s opted to not take any risks with Neymar ahead of PSG’s final game of 2018.

“Neymar has gone to Brazil with my permission,” said Tuchel, according to Fox Sports.

“He played injured against Red Star. It was a risk.

“We are happy that things have not got any worse after the game. Ney always wants to play, but this is not the time to take risks.”

PSG’s game against Nantes at the Parc Des Princes will begin at 21:00 (CET) on Saturday.
