Paris Saint-Germain attacker, Neymar, scored a spectacular winner goal on his return to the club, but he was booed through the whole match.
For the first time in the 2019-2020 French Ligue 1 season, Neymar Junior played a game for Paris Saint-Germain.
And he was booed through the whole match, even after scoring a spectacular winning goal.
“We all know what happened (in the summer). I understand that it is very difficult for them (the fans),” he told L’Equipe.
“But from now on, I am a PSG player. If they want to whistle me, there is no problem. There are more than 25 players in the squad, you cannot focus on one.”
“The other players do not deserve to be subjected to this. We have a team and we have to support the club, support Paris. When the crowd is behind the team, together we are stronger,” he added.
Asked if he had a message for the fans, Neymar said: “No, nothing. I just want to thank my team-mates for allowing me to score this goal.”
“Unfortunately, I’ve had injuries over the last few years but every time I’ve played I’ve delivered.”
“I’ve certainly had the best statistics of my career here. The transfer market’s closed. It’s a closed chapter. I won’t talk about it anymore,” he said.
“My head is at PSG. I’ll give everything on the pitch. I’m totally focused here and will give everything as I have at any club I’ve played for. I’m very happy to have scored. It was a special day.”
