Nicolas Pepe is still a Lille player: coach Galtier

The team’s star player is still focused in training with his team, even after rumors that he’s soon leaving the French Ligue 1 club.

Lille president Gerard Lopez has confirmed that Liverpool has held talks with Nicolas Pepe over a summer move.

But for the team’s coach Christophe Galtier, this is not yet set in stone and as of today, the star player is still a French Ligue 1 footballer with Lille.

“We know that this deal will probably take longer because there is a lot of competition for his signature and both sides – the player and the clubs concerned – will need to reflect on how they proceed,” Galtier said according to the Ligue 1 official website.

“But that’s not why other players didn’t come to join us.”

He explained: “There are just difficult negotiations, even more so when you have a great European competition to play.”

Tuchel reveals Neymar wanted to leave before the Copa America

The Brazilian footballer wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain and he seems to be set to returning to Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga.

“It’s the first week; it’s both studious and a little relaxed.”

“The departures that took place were on the cards and there will be other players arriving,” he explained.

“[I wish for] a squad in which all positions are doubled and goalkeeper and center-forward positions are tripled.”
