According to Lille president, Nicolas Pepe prefers a move to Paris Saint-Germain even though the striker has already received an offer.
It is for sure that Nicolas Pepe will be sold by LOSC Lille this summer. The winger has been in amazing form for Les Dogues and excellent displays mean that a move is on the cards.
At present, the gifted winger is in Egypt to help Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations. As such, it is difficult for Pepe to negotiate a transfer. The winger wanted his future to be sorted out before the tournament started but it appears that everything will be decided once the competition is concluded.
And while speaking to L’Equipe, Gerard Lopez, the club’s president said that he wanted to decide Pepe’s future before CAN 2019.
“We do not overestimate anything. We know what the offers are. I also wanted to conclude his transfer before the CAN.”
Reports claim that the likes of Atletico Madrid and Internazionale made bids of €90 million for Nicolas Pepe. However, even then nothing has happened.
It appears that the Ivorian is waiting for a specific club to come calling for him. And Lopez says that it is Paris Saint-Germain where the player wants to go this summer.
“At the request of his representatives, we waited a little. And Nico told us he wanted to focus on CAN. He also wants to talk to the coach, I’m not worried. His representatives prefer a move to PSG. For him, this isn’t a problem. We have had discussions with big clubs like Liverpool, Inter and Manchester City where he will do well. But everyone has a right to choose,” he said.
With a slight preference for PSG, it remains to be seen if the feeling is mutual. Les Parisiens were initially keen on signing the winger but things have changed since Leonardo’s arrival.
