Arsenal prospect Eddie Nketiah has signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners, and many say the youngster is on his way to greatness
The 18-year-old attacking talent has made four first-team appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side and as a result of playing extremely well, he was rewarded with a new long-term deal, which provides him with the chance of staying in north London for a few more years. What he can do with his talents at the Emirates, the upcoming years will tell us.
The youngster Nketiah made his debut for the Gunners in the Europa League, when he was awarded a few minutes against BATE Borisov in September. The attacker has shown great progress and Arsenal’s French manager has noticed that. Since his debut, Nketiah has featured in three more games for the first-team.
Despite being only 18-years-old, the forward made a big impact and impressed many when he found the back of the net twice in the Gunners’ 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Norwich City, which they were only able to achieve after extra time. Those goals earned him a praise from club legend Thierry Henry.
The Premier League club has now confirmed that the England U19 international will stay in London for a few more years, and he is not the only one. The Gunners have also extended the contracts of Matt Macey, and Ben Sheaf, and both of them had made their debuts this season.
The 23-year-old Macey played in goal for the first time during their win over Norwich before playing against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, while Sheaf made a brief substitute appearance against the Serbian side, GOAL reports.
All three of them extended their contracts, but for some reason the club didn’t want to reveal the length of the youngsters’ new deals.
