Alexander Nubel expresses his excitement after joining Bayern Munich while vowing to help the club reach even greater heights.

Bayern Munich secured the signature of Schalke‘s Alexander Nubel in January as he agreed to join the club on a free transfer at the end of the 2019/20 season.

On Tuesday morning, the 23-year old shot-stopper completed the final procedures of his transfer after passing medical examinations.

He also committed his future by putting pen to paper on a five-year contract, keeping him at Allianz Arena until 30 June 2025.

With veteran Manuel Neuer hardly showing any signs of slowing down, Nubel cannot expect to become the team’s first choice anytime soon. However, he is determined to keep improving and eventually leading his new team to glory.

“The first impressions are very, very good. I wanted to take the next step,” he told the club’s official website.

“My goal is to improve steadily and celebrate many successes with FC Bayern.”

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic also expressed his delight over the newcomer’s arrival. He assured that the German will get immense support from the club while hailing him as one of the finest talents.

“We’re glad Alexander is with us now,” said Salihamidzic. “Alexander Nubel is one of the biggest goalkeeping talents, he’ll continue to improve at FC Bayern and make good progress. He’ll get every possible form of support from us.”
