Jan Oblak believes Atletico Madrid will have to be humble and keep working hard for the remainder of the season.
Atletico Madrid continued their struggles after being held to a goalless draw by a resilient CD Leganes in their latest La Liga match.
Diego Simeone’s men have now fallen further behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in the title race. Also, after the draw, they now face a seven-point deficit from the top of the table.
After the match, Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak was visibly frustrated by his team’s performance. As Marca reports, Oblak urged his teammates to keep working hard in order to continue fighting for positive results.
“We are disappointed, [as] we haven’t got the three points we have sought,” Oblak said.
“Things did not go as planned and, when they don’t, you have to be humble, work hard and do your best so that the results come later.
“It has been a difficult time for the players. I don’t say it’s because of the pressure. But we’re all aware that more can be done to win games like today. [What happened at the] end has been the result of tension. But we have to be humble and move forward because it is the only way to keep winning.”
