Angel Correa has brushed off speculation surrounding Jan Oblak, claiming the goalkeeper already plays for a big side in Atletico Madrid.
Atletico forward Angel Correa has heaped praise on Jan Oblak while dismissing rumors the goalkeeper could be leaving the club.
The Slovenian shot-stopper has been the subject of transfer speculation over the past few weeks with Premier League side Chelsea the club reportedly in the chase.
Top figures at Atletico including Diego Simeone and club president Enrique Cerezo have all confirmed multiple offers are currently on the table for Oblak.
For a goalkeeper dubbed by many as the best in the world, the response from the Los Rojiblancos camp so far is that they have no intention of selling the 27-year-old.
Angel Correa shares the same thought and sees no reason why Oblak would consider leaving for a big club considering he already plays for one in Atletico Madrid.
“I’ve not seen a goalkeeper like him,” Correa told Radio MARCA.
“We’re very happy to be able to have him with us.
“He’s a goalkeeper who gives you lots of security and who has been winning points for us for many years.”
“Oblak seems very happy here. He loves living in Madrid.”
“He has everything he deserves because he’s the number one.”
“The biggest clubs in the world want him, but he doesn’t need them because he’s already at Atleti.”
Oblak still has three years left on his current Atletico contract hence the club are under no pressure whatsoever to sell.
