Marin Odegaard is adamant about seeing till the end of his two-year loan deal with Real Sociedad.
At 16 years and 157 days, in 2015, Martin Odegaard became the youngest player to play in the Real Madrid shirt after the club became his choice of destination among a host of other choices in the shape of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and the likes.
The Norwegian joined Real Sociedad last year after a couple of other loan stints in his homeland on a two-year-long deal. And while Real Madrid do have an option to call him back, Odegaard suggests he is happy to stay where he is as of now.
“That’s the plan [a two-year stay], it hasn’t changed,” Odegaard insisted as per Marca.
“I’m very happy here. However, I’m only focusing on the day-to-day at this moment.”
Real Madrid go up against Real Sociedad in the semifinal of the Copa del Rey later tonight. And Martin Odegaard insists his team is perfectly capable of causing an upset for his parent club.
“This is the quarter-final of the Copa del Rey, we want to do something very special this year,” Odegaard continued.
“We’re looking forward to it, I think it will be a difficult game, but we’re capable of hurting any team.”
