Inter Milan have confirmed that the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United on a free transfer in a contract until 2023.

Alexis Sanchez has completed a free transfer from Manchester United to Inter Milan on a three-year deal.

The 31-year-old, who has spent the past year on loan at Inter, agreed to a small pay-off from United in return for the club waiving the remaining two years of his contract.

Inter released the following statement on their website to confirm the transfer: “FC Internazionale Milano announce that Alexis Sanchez has joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.

“The Chilean forward has signed a permanent contract with the Club until 30 June 2023.”

Therefore, Sanchez’s disappointing two-and-a-half-year spell with United finally ends. He only scored five times in 45 outings since joining in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Arsenal in January 2018.

“Everyone at Manchester United wishes Alexis Sanchez all the best in his future career as he joins Inter Milan on a permanent transfer,” read a United statement.

Now Sanchez has officially moved on, United’s iconic No 7 jersey again is available once again. The current favorite to take it is Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, who is a top target for the Red Devils this summer.
