Official: Barcelona sign Jean-Clair Todibo

Barcelona have confirmed they’ve signed Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse, who will join them this summer on a free transfer

The 19-year-old defender broke into the Toulouse senior team this season in a 2-1 derby win over Bordeaux in August and he’s since made a further nine Ligue 1 appearances.

Reports in the Spanish media announced last week that a deal had been struck on between Barcelona and Todibo for his transfer this summer once his contract at Toulouse expires.

Now the Catalan giants have confirmed the news that they’ve reached an agreement for the Frenchman.

“FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with the French player Jean-Clair Todibo for him to join the Club from 1 July 2019,” read a statement on the club website.

“The player’s contract with Toulouse FC ends on 30 June this year and so he will join on a free transfer.”

Todibo is regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents and has already represented France at U20 level.
