Wissam Ben Yedder completes his transfer to Monaco.

According to Goal.com, the deal has been completed.

The French international was released by Sevilla after Monaco paid his release clause fo 40 million Euros.

29 years-old Ben Yedder has signed a five-year contract with the principality.

As we brought yesterday here at Ronaldo.com, the deal was close. Now it’s done.

The player himself said of the transfer:

“I am very happy to be involved with AS Monaco.”

“I felt a strong desire on the part of the club to have me come.”

“I chose Monaco because I believe in this project.”

“I am determined to do everything possible to go after our common goals.”

I come with the intention to prove, as always, my qualities and with the desire to reach a new level.”

“I want to thank the club for the trust it gives me.”

“It’s a beautiful day and the beginning of a new story that I cannot wait to start.”

Monaco will see this transfer as quite a coup. For a player who has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham this summer.

Last season he managed 30 goals in 54 appearances for Sevilla.

His career stats show him to have managed 141 goals in 312 games, plus 44 assists.

There is the added bonus of his Ligue 1 experience. He played for FC Toulouse 174 times, and scored 71 goals, with 22 assists, back in his time in France.

Leonardo Jardim will be hoping Ben Yedder can bring that kind of form with him to Monaco and get their season back on track,

The opening game did not quite go to plan. They were on the wrong end of a 3-0 home defeat to Lyon. and saw Cesc Fabregas sent off.
