Juventus have confirmed the departure of Blaise Matuidi, with the midfielder set to move to MLS and sign with David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
Matuidi has officially left Juventus with his imminent move to Inter Miami set to be expected in the next few days.
The 33-year-old spent spent three seasons in Serie A after joining from PSG in 2017. In his time at the club, he won the Italian title each year and proved to be an important part of the Juventus squad.
Juventus wished Matuidi a fond farewell in their official statement, which read:
“And it is because of all these characteristics, and for the great commitment he has always put in place with us, that we thank him.”
“Blaise is someone who will always be in our hearts and we wish him all the very best for the future.”
In all, Matuidi made 133 appearances for Juve, scoring eight goals and recording seven assists. Asides the Serie A, he also won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana with the Turin club.
During his time at the club, only Paulo Dybala made more appearances than the Frenchman, highlighting his importance to the club.
His next club, Inter Miami, have lost all five games of their MLS campaign so far and will be eager to complete bring in Matuidi in no time.
