Cristiano Ronaldo has officially completed his Manchester United return and
thanked fans for all their kind messages to him.
Manchester United have confirmed Cristiano Ronaldoâs return to Old Trafford is complete.
The five-time Ballon dâOr winner rejoins United on a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further year, subject to international clearance.
The Red Devils, who hijacked Manchester Cityâs attempts to sign Ronaldo last week, will pay Juventus an initial âŹ15 million. The Italian club could receive an extra âŹ8m in bonuses, leaving the total transfer fee at around âŹ23m.
âManchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart, and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement on Friday,â Ronaldo told the clubâs website.
âI cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again. Iâm looking forward to joining up with the team after the international games, and I hope we have a very successful season ahead.â
Run. It. Back.

Solskjaer delighted CR7 is coming home
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added: âYou run out of words to describe Cristiano. He is not only a marvelous player but also a great human being. To have the desire and the ability to play at the top level for such a long period requires a very special person. I have no doubt that he will continue to impress us all and his experience will be so vital for the younger players in the squad. Ronaldoâs return demonstrates the unique appeal of this club and I am absolutely delighted he is coming home to where it all started.â
When could CR7 make his second debut?
Ronaldo is currently in Lisbon preparing for Portugalâs World Cup qualifiers against Ireland on Wednesday, Qatar on Saturday, and Azerbaijan on September 7.
Once the international break ends, he will return to Old Trafford and could make his second Manchester United debut against Newcastle on September 11 in the Premier League.
