Borussia Dortmund have announced the purchase of Emre Can from Juventus on a permanent basis.
Borussia Dortmund signed midfielder Emre Can on loan with an obligation to buy from Juventus on the transfer deadline day in January.
So far, Can has played just two times for his new club in the Bundesliga. He also scored an absolute screamer in his debut match for Dortmund in the 4-3 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
And, as per recent developments, he has done enough to impress and prompt them into making his signing permanent.
Recently, Dortmund confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Juve to turn Can’s loan deal into a permanent one.
According to reports, they paid €25 million to Juve after activating the buyout clause on his contract. The 26-year old midfielder also signed a four-year contract with the Bundesliga side.
The statement on the club’s official website read: “Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Italian record champions Juventus over the permanent transfer of Germany international Emre Can.
“The 26-year-old’s loan deal ends in June. As of 1 July, a valid contract between Borussia Dortmund and Can will enter into force and run until 30 June 2024.”
