After a quick negotiation with PSV Eindhoven, Luuk de Jong finally completed his transfer and became a new Sevilla FC player until 2023.

Dutch striker Luuk de Jong was one of the most coveted players from PSV Eindhoven, one of the clubs that was after his transfer was Sevilla FC.

The Spanish club is currently under construction and is trying to buy the best possible players for manager Julen Lopetegui’s project.

De Jong was one of the most important players that they wanted to sign, they were looking for an ideal striker who could replace Wissam Ben-Yedder.

The French forward is close to leaving the club as he has many great offers from many different institutions.

The Spanish club is not going to prevent Ben-Yedder from leaving, which is why they went after Luuk de Jong as the alternative.

After a short negotiation, both clubs finally reached an agreement for the Dutch forward.

Luuk becomes a Sevilla player for the next four seasons, he will end his contract in June 2023.

“I am very happy, of course. This is an incredible opportunity, it is a great step forward for my career,” said De Jong on Sevilla’s official website.

“I hope I can be important in Sevilla and I also hope I can enjoy myself here. I tend to watch La Liga matches constantly.”

“I also know Sevilla has won the Europa League several times, it’s an incredible achievement.”

“I watched them last season at the top of the table for a short period of time, but they suffered an unfortunate drop in the end.”

“They had a great squad. I also know the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, it’s a spectacular venue with a great atmosphere.”

“I’ve seen this place through many videos. For me, this is a great step forward after five great years at PSV.”

“Today I will get the chance to play an incredible competition, for an incredible club. I hope I can be important and prove myself.”

“I also hope a lot of people already know the type of player that I am. I can create danger in the box, I can score goals with both of my feet and my head.”

“I am a great player in the air. I hope I can prove all that in Sevilla. I think I’m in the best moment of my career,” he added.
