Melbourne City winger Daniel Arzani has joined sister club Manchester City
The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in Australian football and actually became youngest ever player to play for the national side at a World Cup this summer in Russia.
While Arzani has likely signed a long-term contract at City, he will be expected to go out on loan in order to continue his development with an announcement expected within the coming days.
Brian Marwood, MD of global football at the City Football Group, told the club website: “In a short period of time, Daniel has developed into one of Australia’s brightest young stars and has demonstrated the drive and raw talent required for success at the highest level.
“This pathway was first forged by Aaron Mooy just two years ago, and we are all delighted to see another Australian-grown talent make this move.”
Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is the only big signing City have made throughout the entire summer for a club record fee of £60m.
