Nabil Fekir has finally completed a long-awaited move to Real Betis after spending all of his playing career at Olympique Lyonnais.
Nabil Fekir can now look forward to a different experience after finally securing a move away from Lyon. The 2018 World Cup winner was on the verge of joining Liverpool last summer. Sadly, the transfer fell through due to a suspected knee injury he suffered in the past.
However, all this is behind the talented forward who will now be playing in La Liga for Real Betis.
This is definitely one of the most surprising transfers of the summer transfer window. Last summer, Nabil Fekir was set to move to Liverpool and now he will play for a team that finished tenth in the league standings last season.
Lyon on their part also didn’t offer any resistance given that Fekir had only one year left on his current deal.
The club also confirmed the announcement via Twitter.

¡Bienvenido, @NabilFekir! 🧞♂️🤤

“Nabil Fekir is a new Betis player. The French international has signed until 2023. Betis has reached an agreement with Olympique Lyonnais for the transfer of midfielder Nabil Fekir. He signed until 2023 and becomes the fourth signing of the 2019/2020 season.”
Nabil Fekir would now be looking to revive his career. While Betis are not going to be playing in Europe next season, the Andalusia club has embarked on a very ambitious project. The first step would be to seal a place in the Europa League by the end of next season.
In a team that is blooming with attacking talent such as Giovani Lo Celso, Nabil Fekir is likely to do well.
And with the likes of Sergio Canales, William Carvalho and Diego Lainez also in the ranks, one can expect Nabil Fekir to play a big part in the club’s ascend to the top next season.
