Manuel Neuer has put an end to any speculation surrounding his future at Bayern Munich by signing a new deal with the club.
Manuel Neuer has been the Bayern Munich number one for 11 years now and the German number one for almost as long.
With Neuer now 34 and the younger Nubel only 23, it was suggested that the veteran could be pushed out of the door to make way.
These rumors have now been put to bed after the club announced a new contract had been signed keeping the German number one at the club until 2023.
The statement from club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge read:
“FC Bayern is very happy Manuel has extended his contract until 30 June 2023.”
“Manuel is the best goalkeeper in the world and our captain.”
The player himself shared his joy adding:
“I look to the future with great optimism.”
Alexander Nubel will apparently have to wait his turn, behind arguably one of the greatest goalkeepers in the business.
