The first side to officially be relegated from Premier League this season has today been confirmed, Norwich City goes back to the Championship.
This time last year Norwich City was making plans of how to survive in the Premier League after gaining promotion from the Championship.
In their first year back in the top flight, Norwich City has gone right back down and are now planning on how to get back.
After suffering defeat to West Ham, their fate was sealed.
Before the game their manager, Daniel Farke admitted that even if his side did the unthinkable and didn’t lose another game this season he was still pretty certain they would go down.
According to Goal, the German tactician said:
“Even if we win the last four games, I would say with at least a 99 percent guarantee it would not be enough to stay in this league.”
David Moyes’ West Ham are still not guaranteed a place in next seasons top flight, and the win at Carrow Road will be a huge help in their fight.
The Canaries were well beaten by fellow strugglers the Hammers, although they dominated possession. Like so many times before, they failed to take their chances.
The East London club ran out four-nil winners to seal the bottom of the league club’s fate.
All the goals for Moyes’ side were scored by Michail Antonio.
The next big problem Norwich City face is holding on to their star players.
The likes of Todd Cantwell, Teemu Puki, Max Aarons, and Ben Godfrey are all said to be on the radar for some of the league’s bigger clubs.
