An official club statement has confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino is no longer the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

The news that the man who was heralded as a hero on a few months ago when Spurs were in the Champions League final, has just been officially announced by the club.

Simply, “Mauricio leaves the club,” there is no specifics of a sacking or mutual consent, merely he is no longer with Tottenham.

This morning there was wide speculation that his future was up for debate, and that Pochettino and club chairman Daniel Levy were in serious discussion about the future.

It is now official that that future does not include the Argentine.

Tottenham currently sits 14th in the Premier League, and there is widespread talk that Levy’s biggest concern was that he had lost the dressing room.

Pochettino has been linked with numerous top jobs, from Manchester United, Real Madrid, and even Spain.

None of those are available, but he may now turn his attentions to Bayern Munich.

However, the question everyone’s lips now does this meltdown of catastrophic promotions in North London means Pochettino is damaged stock.

The one-time golden boy of football management may not be quite an untouchable as we once perceived.

There is no doubt he has taken the Lilly whites beyond their wildest dream, and the general vibe in the social media world feels that he has been hard done by.
