Official: Real Betis gives Jese another chance in La Liga

Real Madrid product Jese, has been officially announced as a new Real Betis transfer and will be given a second opportunity in La Liga.

Turns out that Quique Setien’s Real Betis doesn’t only want to get closer in the Spanish La Liga’s table by signing one offensive player, their official website just announced Jese as their new transfer and confirm that they want to also fight for the Europea League trophy this season.

With clubs like Atletico Madrid completely out of contention for the continental tournament, the Andalusian squad now only has to worry about other clubs such as Sevilla, Chelsea, Internazionale Milano, Benfica, Arsenal, or Valencia.

They will have to face Ligue 1’s Rennes in the Round on 32 that will start next month and will demand the very best from the club, which is why manager Quique Setien has decided to bring as many good players as possible to the institution and put together an even greater squad than he had before.

The first step towards the title chance was youngster Diego Lainez, who has only needed two matches to prove that he is a good prospect for the future and that Real Betis has made a good decision to bring him over this season in order to make the club stronger than it already was on the offense.

The second step they took this season was just announced a couple of hours ago, it is none other than Spanish winger Jese Rodriguez.

Yes, the same Real Madrid product who was believed to be the Spanish Cristiano Ronaldo before he suffered a horrible career-ending knee ligament injury that nearly moved him completely away from the sport.

Jese attempted to bring his career back several times since he suffered that nasty knee problem against Schalke 04 in the Champions League, this kept him away from any competition for 232 days and the Spanish giants completely gave up on him after that.

Paris Saint-Germain made the risky decision to buy Jese from Los Blancos back in August 2016 for €25 million, something that they immediately regretted because they sent him on loan three times already with this latest development of his career.

Jese arrives in Real Betis due to Quique Setien’s own wishes, the manager already coached the player during his short spell in Las Palmas and leaving a good impression on the Spanish boss.

Opinion: Moving to China would kill Gareth Bale’s career

The option of moving to China for Gareth Bale shouldn't even be considered by the player, we think it would kill his career as...

Jese also made a short spell at Stoke City with very little success, the player always struggled to get back to his best shape and also combined these problems with a very public legal trial against his former partner for the custody of his child.

But things have made a drastic turn for Jese in recent months, as the player has been spotted making a greater effort to improve his physical fitness and overall playing level by getting a personal physical therapist and a nutritionist that has helped him drop several pounds of weight and even helped him play another football match in a long time for PSG.

Jese has convinced Quique Setien that he wants to regain his best level of performance, something that the Spanish manager can get behind because one of his talents is to get the best out of players who are considered flops or failures.

Setien has already done this with one Giovani Lo Celso and gotten spectacular results, he believes Jese’s untapped potential is still there and will do everything in his power to recover one of the players who was destined to become one of the best in the world.

How much time will it take Quique Setien to recover the best Jese at Real Betis? Please share your opinion in the comment section down below.
