Real Madrid have formally lodged a complaint to FIFA over Inter Milan’s apparent illegal approach for Luka Modric
The Croatia captain has been surprisingly linked with a switch to Inter this summer, despite having a buy-out clause of €750m inserted into his four-year contract.
Now SportsKeeda reports that a FIFA spokesperson has confirmed that they have received an official complaint from Real over Inter’s illegal approach for Modric.
The Serie A side have apparently made contact with the 32-year-old without any permission.
Los Blancos’ director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno had insisted earlier this week that Modric “couldn’t be happier” to stay at the club.
But Inter boss Luciano Spalletti isn’t about to give up anytime soon.
“It’s obviously positive he has shown interest in joining us,” he said last week.
“We are trying to create the right conditions for him to join Inter.”
Since arriving from Tottenham in 2012, Modric has won 14 pieces of major silverware at Real.
