Takefusa Kubo was on loan at RCD Mallorca and will ply his trade at Villarreal to further his footballing development at El Madrigal.
Japan international, Takefusa Kubo, was a mainstay at Mallorca, making 35 La Liga appearances. He made a good impression while on-loan, scoring four and laying down four assists in a losing battle.
Real Madrid would have liked continuity for Kubo but Mallorca were relegated at the end of 2019/20 campaign. In order to further the development of youngster poached from La Masia, Los Blancos are sending him to Villarreal.
The Yellow Submarine need midfield reinforcements after the departure of Santi Cazorla, and Kubo is a welcome addition. For Kubo, it will be a step up as he tastes UEFA cup competitions at El Madrigal.
“Villarreal and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the loan of the Japanese midfielder Takefusa Kubo, who will play for the Yellows for the 2020/21 season,” a Villarreal statement read.
“Kubo is a young midfielder who has excellent ball control and stands out for his extraordinary ability to beat opponents, as well as his excellent reading of the game.”
