The 30-year-old signed for Leicester in the summer of 2017 and scored four goals in 37 appearances for the foxes.
He made his debut for Leicester in their 2-0 Carabao Cup home victory against Liverpool in September 2017 and netted his first goal for the club two months later in a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.
Before coming to England, Iborra had a four-year spell at Sevilla where he played 172 matches, scored 30 goals and provided 13 assists, and also helped the club win three consecutive UEFA Europa League titles.
The midfielder has joined up with the team and could be available for selection when Villarreal host Espanyol in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday night.
