Leicester City have announced that 31-year-old defender Yohan Benalouane has joined Championship side Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal.

Benalouane joined Leicester City in August 2015 from Italian Serie A club Atalanta on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of €8 million.

Taggart believes in Leicester City’s youth system

The former Foxes defender says there are plenty of reasons to be positive about the next season thanks to the club's youth squad.

The 31-year-old made his debut for Leicester in their 4-2 victory against Sunderland and went on to make 29 appearances in all competitions.

He joined Italian club ACF Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season on January 2016 but failed to play for the club due to injury.

After an unsuccessful loan spell at Fiorentina, he returned to Leicester for the 2016/17 season and made 11 Premier League appearances and also featured in their UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final ties Atletico Madrid that season.

“The Football Club would like to thank Yohan for his contribution and wish him the very best in the future.” read a statement on the club’s website.
