Okan Kocuk says that he wants to become a legend at the club after sealing a dream move to the Turkish giants from Bursaspor.
Okan Kocuk is considered one of the most highly rated goalkeepers in Turkey. And after some sensational displays for Bursaspor, the youngster has definitely earned a move to one of the biggest clubs in Turkey.
The youngster was very keen on making a move to Gala and even paid his former club €450,000 to free him from his contract. The youngster made 22 appearances for the Green Crocodiles last season and kept seven clean sheets.
And while he was unable to prevent his team from getting demoted to the lower league, he had done enough to justify a move to the Turkish giants.
Brusaspor’s relegation was something of a shock given that the club had only recently won the Super Lig title.
Now, Okan Kocuk is going to become the club’s second choice keeper behind Fernando Muslera. While displacing the Uruguay international would be tough, the youngster is definitely going to learn a lot from him.
While speaking to reporters, the Turk said that he wants to make history for the club and thanked Fatih Terim for giving him a chance to do that.
“Galatasaray is not my first club but the most special club for me. It is unbelievable to be here. Right now, I’m very happy and proud to be here. I really understood the value and weight this jersey carries when I came here. I would like to thanks Fatih Terim and Abdurrahim Albayrak for their help,” he said according to TRT Spor.
Okan Kocuz also says that he will learn a lot from Muslera and goalkeeping coach, Claudio Taffarel.
“Of course, the big goals do not end. I want to be a legend at Galatasaray. I will sweat and bleed for this shirt for many years.”
