After a slow start to the transfer window, Les Phoceens are looking at the profile of Morocco international, Sofiane Boufal.
Sofiane Boufal is getting a lot of attention from Olympique de Marseille who are in quite some trouble at the moment.
Les Phoceens failed to sell any player before the end of the 2018/19 fiscal year. But this doesn’t mean that the club has avoided a situation. The Rhone club still needs to sell players before buying them.
Lucas Ocampos is followed by Seville FC while Burnley are interested in Morgan Sanson. Luiz Gustavo on the other hand, is attracting interest from Turkish giants, Fenerbahce.
And even if they are able to sell players, Marseille would need to be very shrewd in the transfer market. The club is currently looking at players who are free agents, youngsters with high potential and players available on loan. In this sense, a lot of names have cropped up as Andre Villas-Boas looks to set things right next season.
According to L’Equipe, a lot of players were scouted during the Toulon Tournament, Euro Under 21 but nothing has been decided so far. Now though, the club is looking to make a move for Sofiane Boufal, currently at the African Cup of Nations for Morocco.
Sent on loan to Celta Vigo by Southampton last season, the former Lille man has found a lot of playing time and seemed to be enjoying life in Spain. The forward is under contract at St. Marys’ until June 30, 2021.
While Southampton haven’t decided anything yet, the player might be willing to leave England for good in a bid to play at a club that guarantees him regular playing time. Marseille are keen on the talented forward but it remains to be seen if Sofiane Boufal would be willing to sign for a team that is clearly in doldrums at the moment.
