Opinion: Cristiano Ronaldo should’ve postponed his Portugal return

Portugal v France - Final: UEFA Euro 2016
PARIS, FRANCE - JULY 10: Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal holds the Henri Delaunay trophy to celebrate after his team's 1-0 win against France in the UEFA EURO 2016 Final match between Portugal and France at Stade de France on July 10, 2016 in Paris, France. (Photo by Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images)

The UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers start on Thursday, as Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the Portugal squad for the first time since June.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been recalled for international duty, after missing the whole group stage of the UEFA Nations League earlier this season.

The European champions start the UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers against Ukraine on Friday night and they’ll finally have their captain back in the first team.

However, we believe that Cristiano Ronaldo should have postponed his return to the national team, at least until the end of the current season.

We have three arguments to support our theory, but in case you disagree with us feel free to express your own opinion in the comment section below.
