The situation at FC Barcelona is completely unbearable, the Catalan club might be in big trouble during the next La Liga weekend.

We can’t stress enough how complicated this start of a new season will be for FC Barcelona, the Catalan club will go through the worst moments of the season in the next two months.

Last Friday’s La Liga opener against Athletic Club proved that Ernesto Valverde is way in over his head with the problems he currently has.

We already knew about Lionel Messi’s injury that kept him from making his debut at San Mames, we need to add Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele’s fresh physical problems to that.

The Uruguay international has a calf issue, whereas the French winger has many problems on top of his fresh hamstring injury.

We can already see Valverde suffering from all the pressure he is currently going through, we wouldn’t blame him if he decided to call it quits this early in the season.

However, we know this won’t happen and the Spanish manager will take this burden until the moment the club’s board decides to sack him.

The next two matches for Barcelona aren’t as complicated as expected, but not having three of their best players might be the reason they don’t get six points out of two matches before September’s international break.

We’ll go through the two games in this analysis.

Sunday’s match at Camp Nou.

Although the upcoming match doesn’t appear as complicated because Barcelona is facing Real Betis, only having Antoine Griezmann on the attack might prove extremely challenging.

The Andalucian squad just came from losing at home against Real Valladolid, they simply can’t afford to keep losing points and this visit to Camp Nou has to bring them some peace of mind.

At least salvaging a point might be possible with the locals not having Messi, Suarez, and Dembele.

A week after that, Barcelona will have to travel again as they face Osasuna. This might also become a problematic exit because the Catalan club might still not have their best players ready to perform.

There is only a small beacon of hope for them, which is in the form of Lionel Messi coming back to practice on Wednesday.

The Argentine player just appeared touching the ball alongside his teammates, which means that he is entering the final stages of his recovery.

However, this doesn’t mean that he will be ready for the match vs Real Betis. But perhaps he can make an appearance at Osasuna before the international break.

Fortunately for Barcelona, Messi is suspended from all international activity during the first half of the season.

While all the club’s players play for their national teams, the Argentine and his other two teammates will follow a specific recovery plan in order to be prepared for the next match in mid-September.

This one will be the second serious test after Athletic club, Barcelona will receive Valencia’s visit at Camp Nou Stadium.

The locals truly need a victory for this match, and they also require having at least one of their injured stars fully recovered for when this game happens.

We know we are looking too far ahead in the game, the most urgent matter is Barcelona’s next challenge at Camp Nou.

Not having Messi is the most important handicap they will have, which leaves Antoine Griezmann with a massive test ahead of him.

We still don’t have a clear idea of which players Valverde will use for the game against Real Betis, but we will keep you posted on the specifics of this upcoming match.

We are convinced that the next two games will be crucial for FC Barcelona’s rest of the season, losing points here will affect them down the lone.
