Opinion: Florentino Perez’s pending summer assignments

It’s time to talk about the final summer assignments that Florentino Perez has at Real Madrid during the transfer window. They are three specific transfers.

Now that Florentino Perez has sealed the deal on Eden Hazard, the club’s president has a couple more pending assignments left this summer.

We are talking about at least three more transfers that should come to the club over the next couple of months.

The first one that appears to be already closed but waiting on confirmation is Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyonnais.

The left-back is coming to cover Marcelo’s position as the Brazilian is entering his final years at the club as a seasoned veteran.

Sergio Reguilon didn’t seem to convince Zinedine Zidane and the manager preferred to bring one of his compatriots to fill the position.

The initial price that Los Blancos could pay for the player is €50 million, but the price could go lower depending on how well Florentino Perez negotiates for the final price.

After this addition is made public, Florentino Perez has at least another two positions that ‘Zizou’ asked him to cover.

One is for a box-to-box midfielder and the other one is for another offensive player, Los Blancos are looking to surprise the transfer market with that last one.

However, reaching those two final targets might prove more difficult than anything the club’s board has experienced.

The midfielder option.

We start with the transfer that may appear easier for Real Madrid after they close Mendy, which is the midfielder position.

The first option they have is Paul Pogba from Manchester United, but the Red Devils really don’t want to let go off their top player this summer.

The main problem with signing Paul remains his agent, Mino Raiola.

A man who is always very tough to deal with and tends to give more importance to money instead of prestige.

The club is well aware that this transfer may not happen despite the player’s burning wish to make it happen.

The other option on the market is Tottenham’s own Christian Eriksen, the Danish player who just finished a fantastic season with the Spurs.

It has been confirmed that Los Blancos will spend their last money on either one of these options, the price they are willing to pay is around €100 million as they did for Hazard.

Opinion: Zidane needs to spend big in the January window

Due to the lack of results in recent weeks, Zinedine Zidane will have to spend quite a bit of money during the January transfer...

Florentino Perez has made it very clear to Zinedine Zidane that the club won’t go over that amount because they are the most prestigious club in the world.

This decision leaves Paul Pogba with slightly harder chances to make his dream come true, but only because Mino Riola and Manchester United won’t accept less than €120 million for the French midfielder.

The unattainable dream.

Moving on to the realm of the impossible for next summer, we go to Real Madrid’s chances of signing a PSG star.

The French club has made it very clear that they won’t sell any of their two major stars, which are Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

However, Real Madrid is looking more into the long term with any of these players.

Los Blancos had Neymar as a long-lasting obsession that Florentino has, but the player’s unfortunate last two years have changed the chairman’s decision.

It is now clear that the Spanish giants have Kylian Mbappe as their only option to finish their full squad renovation.

The French youngster won’t be cheaper than €250 million, which is why the president plans to finish the transfers he can actually complete this summer and start saving for Mbappe’s cost.

The club knows that the player’s burning desire is to wear white as soon as possible, he has already made contact with Zidane expressing how much he wants this to happen.

The club needs to treat this very carefully, as they don’t want the relationship with PSG to get damaged.

Diario AS reports that Florentino Perez attended Paris for the 69th FIFA summit, but Nasser Al-Khelaifi refused to go because he didn’t want the rumor mill to start running.

Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player, only not this summer.
