Due to his incredible capabilities as a striker, we believe Gabriel Martinelli has everything to become Brazil’s main striker.

Gabriel Martinelli’s talent as a striker cannot be overstated, he has everything to become Brazil’s main striker in the near future. Despite his early age. The Arsenal player already proved he is at the highest level and can compete against the best.

The likes of Richarlison or Gabriel Jesus didn’t show as much promise as this very talented player when they were the same age. He is only 18 years old. This doesn’t stop him from playing for one of the best clubs in English football. Although he has to compete against the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the lad doesn’t shy away from a good challenge.

Martinelli has played a total of 23 matches for the Gunners so far. During this time, he’s already scored 10 goals and provided four assists in all competitions. But the most impressive aspect of his season is the three braces he scored with Arsenal.

There aren’t many professional players who can brag about scoring three braces at the highest level when they were 18 years old. This is the typical precocious Brazilian striker who has everything to triumph in European football. But how does he compare to the other players in his position for his national team

Better than Richarlison and in par with Gabriel Jesus.

When it comes to comparing Gabriel Martinelli’s level of performance for the Brazilian squad. First, we need to talk about the other two players who are competing for the same role in the ‘Canarinha’. Richarlison may be 22 years old, but he is a bit of a late bloomer.

The Everton striker is barely starting to make a name for himself in English football. All three Brazilian strikers currently play in England, and Richarlison is the least talented of the bunch. Gabriel Jesus is Martinelli’s real competition.

The Manchester City player is already considered Sergio Aguero’s future replacement. However, recent years haven’t been merciful for the young Brazilian. Pep Guardiola hasn’t given him that starring role he was expecting with the Citizens. But more importantly, he has suffered a few injury setbacks that kept him in the dark for a few games.

The Brazil squad is a different situation, as Jesus is the first option for manager ‘Tite’. The young player recently won the Copa America in 2019. He was one of the most important players throughout that competition.

What’s Martinelli’s big break for Brazil in 2020?

The next international break will be key for the young striker, he has to get a call-up for the upcoming matches against Bolivia and Peru. The South American World Cup Qualifiers will be underway during the month of March. Martinelli has to get a call-up from ‘Tite’, but that won’t be easy if he doesn’t get any minutes at Arsenal.

As far as we know, manager Mikel Arteta considers him an integral part of his team for the future. The Gunners have played 9 matches under the new boss, and Martinelli has been part of the last six in all competitions. The young striker won the Spanish manager’s trust during practice in an unexpected way.

If he maintains his starring role in all competitions, age won’t be a problem for ‘Tite’ to give him that call-up for the World Cup Qualifiers. But if he misses the chance to play those two games, Martinelli also has a major opportunity to become an integral part of the Copa America squad that defends the title next summer. The world knows that this Brazilian player has impressive skills, he has nothing to lose and everything to win.
