Opinion: Karim Benzema is on his own at Real Madrid

French striker Karim Benzema keeps proving that he is completely on his own at Real Madrid, he urgently needs new teammates for next season.

Real Madrid’s below average season has only kept Karim Benzema as the lone star throughout the season for Los Blancos.

The French forward is the only player who can be saved from all the rest of the squad if Zinedine Zidane wanted to clean up the club.

Even the French manager knows how important Karim Benzema will be for his new project and he knows there is a lot to do in regards to new transfers.

There are several reports from many news outlets in Spain that suggest the gaffer is even thinking about replacing many of the players from the squad next season.

We won’t get any straight answers from the boss until the current season comes to an end in a couple of months but we can count on Benzema keeping his place.

There are also a handful of players who can rest assured that their place in the squad is safe for next season.

But the numbers that Karim Benzema has delivered leave the other forwards in complete shame and with an alarming feeling that they might get the ax from the board of directors.

Zidane has already stated that he won’t be too confrontational with any of his players but he will make hard choices where he needs to do it.

The safe players for Zidane next season

Starting with Karim Benzema and his 27 goals so far after scoring the equalizer against Leganes on Monday, we move on to other key players for next season.

Captain Sergio Ramos is another safe bet for Zinedine Zidane and the upcoming years at Real Madrid.

Luka Modric and his recent Ballon d’Or success have secured him a spot on the club for the next few years as well.

Sergio Reguilon and Dani Carvajal are academy products with a bright future at the club as well.

Newcomer Brahim Diaz also seems to have impressed Zinedine Zidane during training sessions and he is very likely to stay at least for one more season.

Casemiro will get his chance to recover his form under the French manager due to all the history that player and boss have together.

Vinicius Junior has already been notified that he will remain at the club and the manager has ambitious plans for him when he fully recovers from his injury.

Report: Solskjaer reiterates stance on Pogba

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reiterated his stance on Paul Pogba not leaving United. In his most recent prematch press conference, according to Goal.com an almost...

Marco Asensio, Isco, Lucas Vazquez, Alvaro Odriozola, Federico Valverde, Keylor Navas, Luca Zidane, and Cristo Gonzalez are all secured in their positions.

The rest of the players we didn’t mention are within the possible transfer options for the club.

Zidane’s plans to bank on certain players

Looking at how poorly several players have been performing during the final stretch of the season, there is a massive contingency plan Zidane has.

The French manager considers that selling players such as Gareth Bale, Thibaut Courtois, Toni Kroos, Mariano Diaz, and Marcelo could be an ideal way to recover the money from the targets for next season.

There is a very specific situation with Raphael Varane because Zidane is trying really hard to convince him to stay.

However, the French defender does feel like he needs to get a fresh challenge for his career and he may be a lost cause.

This whole master plan has ‘Zizou’ actually placing Karim Benzema as his star striker for next season and the former Lyon player feels like he’s earned this recognition.

The season is not over yet but we already have a good idea of where Benzema’s numbers will finish by the end of this tournament.

We can easily watch him scoring over 30 goals in all competitions and possibly even surpassing his all-time high 32-goal tally from 2012.

According to WhoScored, Benzema got that impressive number under Jose Mourinho in 52 matches played and he is close to getting that number of goals right now.
