Opinion: Liverpool is a perfect fit for Ousmane Dembele

We need to talk about Liverpool’s latest interest in Ousmane Dembele and why he would be a perfect fit for both the Reds and the Premier League.

Ousmane Dembele’s time at FC Barcelona has been filled with forgettable moments, the French winger has been linked with Liverpool in recent days.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was one of the people who helped bring him to Borussia Dortmund when he was way younger, which is the main reason why he would completely work at Liverpool.

The Reds have been growing their squad exponentially over the last three years, they tend to sign players who are not that expensive and they always work.

However, the last two years have seen how the Reds do like spending big on players whom they consider to be a safe bet.

They did it with Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk with incredible results. But Klopp gets pride over the fact that he made the arrivals of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah possible for low amounts of money.

‘Bobby’ was the very first player who came to reinforce the Reds back in 2015, Klopp agreed to pay €41 million to Hoffenheim for his transfer and he’s done wonders at Anfield so far.

Sadio Mane was the next in line, he came in from Southampton for only €200k more than the Brazilian player a year later.

Mohamed Salah was next and Jurgen Klopp did it again, the German manager closed the deal with AS Roma for an incredible €42 million.

It’s safe to say that the German manager has a pretty good idea of what he is doing when he is signing players for Liverpool.

This skill was well-known since he coached Borussia Dortmund and the Reds saw a great opportunity with him.

The idea was to bring him and help the squad become one of the best in the world, they finally reached that target at the beginning of June with the Champions League final.

But Klopp knows that he still needs to improve his squad if he wants to win the ultimate trophy for Liverpool, which is the Premier League.

We all know that the Reds haven’t been able to win the English League since it adopted the new format at the start of the ’90s decade.

Fenway Sports Group took the opportunity to buy the club with the goal of someday reaching this objective.

Legendary Rivalries: Pep Guardiola vs Jurgen Klopp

As part of our Legendary Rivalries series, we take you to one of the most recent ones between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp. Even though...

Now that they came really close to winning the trophy last season, they don’t plan on giving up so easily and their transfer plans are going to be more aggressive compared to previous seasons.

The most they’ve paid for a player during this new era is the €75 million they paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk, who is a defender.

But Liverpool will try to break their transfer record with a new player this summer.

Dembele is the chosen one, apparently.

The report from TeamTalk suggests that the Reds are willing to make a €105 million offer to FC Barcelona for Ousmane Dembele.

Jurgen Klopp believes that the French player can be brought back to his best form under his orders.

This is a very talented player with a massive untapped potential who hasn’t been fortunate at Barcelona.

The Catalan club bought him in a moment of panic when Neymar left, this gave him a huge amount of responsibility that he wasn’t able to handle.

However, coming to Liverpool would mean that he is stepping into one of the most successful clubs in the world right now.

Dembele wouldn’t be the star of the project and he would learn a lot from the more established players.

FC Barcelona is willing to let this player leave, but they might have other plans for him that include letting him leave on trade with PSG in order to bring Neymar back.

There is still no more information about Liverpool’s actual offer, there is nothing official yet.

However, when Klopp wants a player there is nothing anybody can do to stop him.
