Opinion: Mbappe’s situation with PSG is not about money

Due to all the speculation surrounding Kylian Mbappe in recent weeks, we need to discuss the real reason behind his issues with PSG.

Kylian Mbappe agreed to play for PSG for a single reason, he only wanted to grow as a footballer. There aren’t many players in the world who are considered elite and regard the French club as European giants.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is still determined to transform his club into one of the giants, but he is a few decades behind. All the best players in the world know that moving to this institution is either to earn a lot of cash or grow as players.

Staying at PSG has proven to be a bad idea if their intention is to transcend in this sport. But the chairman doesn’t see it that way, he will go to extreme lengths to keep all his players. He may think that paying them a lot of cash is enough for all of them, but Kylian Mbappe clearly has other plans.

The current situation between the player and the Thomas Tuchel is indicative of the youngster already taking the first steps off the club. He already spoke in public about how he needs to feel more appreciated at the club, and he doesn’t feel Tuchel does that. Everybody keeps talking about Neymar all the time when Kylian is the one who scores the most goals.

Mbappe is after glory.

For a player with his level of talent, things become fairly simple as he keeps evolving. Kylian Mbappe could easily get offered just as much as Lionel Messi earns at FC Barcelona. In fact, we believe any club that signs him is fully aware they will have to splash their cash on his face.

But Kylian only has one target on his mind, all he cares about is winning as many titles as he possibly can. This young forward soon realized that he has the necessary skill to reach Messi and Ronaldo’s numbers.

The French forward is actually delivering similar stats way younger than they were when they started their rise to power. With this level of performance in mind. It’s obvious that he would love to play for a bigger club.

Al-Khelaifi will do everything in his power to maintain Mbappe at the club. He really has nothing to do in order to convince the star. Kylian made up his mind since he signed the contract with PSG, he will play in the Spanish La Liga very soon.

The option that appears more logical is Real Madrid at the moment, but don’t sleep on FC Barcelona trying to sign him as well.

Will Mbappe leave this summer?

Knowing Nasser Al-Khelaifi, he will at least hold his player until he finishes his contract. Kylian signed a 5-year deal back in 2017. We need to remember that in Europe, a player doesn’t cost anything to a club that tries to buy him in the last year of his contract.

This means that PSG will enjoy Kylian Mbappe for one more season after this one, and then they would have to sell him. Needless to say, the French forward will probably break the transfer record that Neymar has when he also arrived at PSG in 2017.

Whether it’s Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, or a Premier League club. Kylian Mbappe will certainly leave his current squad by the summer of 2021 at the latest. Something unexpected could happen this summer. But we highly doubt Nasser will let him leave so soon.

If they still have one of the best players in the world at their disposal. They might as well take full advantage of his skills. Nobody in the world would be crazy enough to deny that Kylian Mbappe will become the best player in the world.
